Open Graph & Twitter Card Preview — See How Your Link Looks on Every Platform

When someone shares your URL on Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Slack, or Discord, the platform reads the Open Graph meta tags in your page's <head> and renders a link preview card — title, description, and image. Without OG tags, each platform pulls random content from your page, often showing the wrong image, a truncated description, or no image at all.

This tool renders a faithful preview of your link card on all major platforms simultaneously, using each platform's exact card dimensions, font, and cropping behavior. Fill fields manually to preview before your page is live, or fetch OG tags directly from any public URL.

Use the Meta Tag Generator to generate your OG tags, then come back here to preview them. Check the SERP Snippet Preview to see how your page looks in Google search as well.

Essential Open Graph Tags

og:titleRequired

The title of your page as it should appear in the card. Keep under 60 characters for Facebook.

og:descriptionRecommended

A 1–2 sentence description. Not used by all platforms but improves engagement when shown.

og:imageRequired

The image that appears in the card. 1200×630px is the universal safe size. Must be an absolute URL.

og:urlRecommended

The canonical URL of the page. Helps platforms deduplicate share counts.

og:typeRecommended

Usually "website". Use "article" for blog posts (enables article-specific tags like og:published_time).

og:site_nameRecommended

Your brand name. Shown in LinkedIn cards and some Facebook contexts.

twitter:cardRequired for Twitter

summary_large_image for full-width card, summary for thumbnail. Without this, Twitter uses summary.

twitter:imageRecommended

Separate image for Twitter. Falls back to og:image if absent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Facebook showing the old image after I updated og:image?

Facebook aggressively caches OG data — sometimes for weeks. After updating your tags, visit the Facebook Sharing Debugger (developers.facebook.com/tools/debug), paste your URL, and click "Scrape Again" to force a cache refresh. Use this tool to verify the new tags look correct before submitting.

Do I need separate Twitter Card tags if I already have Open Graph tags?

Twitter falls back to og:title, og:description, and og:image if twitter:* tags are absent. However, you must add at least twitter:card to control whether Twitter shows a large or small card — there is no og:* equivalent for that. Adding twitter:image also lets you use a different (often square-cropped) image for Twitter.

Why does my image look cropped differently on each platform?

Each platform crops to its own aspect ratio: Facebook uses 1.91:1, Twitter uses 2:1 for large cards, LinkedIn uses 1.91:1, and Slack/Discord use varying sizes. Design your og:image with the most important content centered so it survives all crops. The previews in this tool show you each platform's exact crop.

What is the minimum og:image size to get a large card on Facebook?

Facebook requires at least 200×200px to show any image. To trigger the large full-width card (instead of a small thumbnail), the image must be at least 600×315px. For the best quality, use 1200×630px.

How do I preview OG tags on a page that isn't live yet?

Use Manual mode. Fill in your title, description, image URL, and site name directly. You can paste a public image URL (or upload an image) to see exactly how the cards will look before your page is deployed.
