or click to browse — PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG

For best results, use a square image at least 512×512px. The tool only scales down, never up.

Manifest Settings

Used in site.webmanifest for Android/PWA install prompts.

Background for the Windows tile, plus your manifest & theme-color meta tag.

Upload an image to generate your favicon package

This package covers standard browser, iOS, Android/PWA, and Windows tile icons. It does not generate a Safari pinned-tab SVG mask icon, which requires a hand-tuned monochrome vector.

Free Favicon Generator — Create a Full Icon Package in Seconds

A single logo file isn't enough for a modern website. Browsers, iOS, Android, PWAs, and Windows each expect their own dedicated icon size and format — get one wrong and you'll see a blurry, cropped, or missing icon on that platform. This tool takes one image and generates every size you need — a multi-resolution favicon.ico, standalone PNGs, an apple-touch-icon, Android/PWA icons, and a Windows tile — along with the manifest files and HTML snippet to wire it all up.

Everything happens locally using your browser's Canvas API. Your image is never uploaded to a server, which also means there's no upload wait — results appear instantly.

Which Favicon Sizes Do You Actually Need?

Different platforms render your icon at different sizes and in different contexts. Skipping one usually means that platform falls back to a stretched or cropped version of whichever icon it can find — this package covers every size actively requested by a modern browser or OS.

🌐 favicon.ico (16, 32, 48px)

The universal fallback every browser checks at /favicon.ico. A multi-size .ico lets the browser pick the sharpest resolution for the context — tab, bookmark bar, or history.

🍏 apple-touch-icon.png (180px)

Shown when a visitor adds your site to their iOS home screen. iOS automatically applies rounded corners, so keep your artwork filling the full square.

🤖 android-chrome (192 / 512px)

Used for Android home screen shortcuts and as the splash-screen icon when your site is installed as a Progressive Web App.

🪟 mstile-150x150.png

Displayed when a site is pinned to the Windows Start menu, rendered on top of your chosen tile color from browserconfig.xml.

How to Add Favicons to Your Website

1️⃣

Download the package

Click "Download All (.zip)" to get every icon file, plus an auto-generated site.webmanifest and browserconfig.xml, in one archive.

2️⃣

Unzip into your site root

Extract the files directly into your public/ or root folder — most browsers and platforms request these files from a fixed path like /favicon.ico.

3️⃣

Paste the HTML snippet

Copy the generated <link> and <meta> tags into the <head> of your HTML, or your framework's metadata/head config (e.g. Next.js's metadata export).

4️⃣

Clear your cache and verify

Favicons are cached aggressively by browsers. Hard-refresh, or check in a private/incognito window, to confirm the new icon is showing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this favicon generator really free?

Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark, and no usage limit. Every icon is generated locally in your browser with the Canvas API.

Does my image get uploaded to a server?

No. All resizing and packaging happens entirely in your browser. Your image is never sent to Texterfly or any third party.

What files are included in the package?

A multi-size favicon.ico (16/32/48px), favicon-16x16.png, favicon-32x32.png, a 180x180 apple-touch-icon, 192x192 and 512x512 android-chrome icons, a 150x150 Windows tile, a site.webmanifest, and a browserconfig.xml.

What image size should I upload?

A square image at least 512x512px gives the sharpest results, since the tool only scales down. A PNG with a transparent background works best for most icons.

Why isn't there a Safari pinned-tab icon?

Safari's pinned-tab icon is a hand-tuned single-color SVG mask, not an automatic resize of your artwork — it needs a bit of manual vector work, so it's outside what an automatic image-to-favicon tool can safely generate.
