cURL Command Converter

Paste a curl command and get JavaScript fetch, Axios, or Python requests code instantly. Free, no sign-up.

100% client-side. Your curl command is parsed in your browser and never sent anywhere — and the request itself is never executed. It only turns text into code.

Tip: in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox DevTools, right-click a request in the Network tab and choose Copy → Copy as cURL. Both bash and Windows cmd formats work.

Built into browsers and Node 18+

POST2 headersJSON body

  method: 'POST',
  headers: {
    Authorization: 'Bearer YOUR_TOKEN',
    'Content-Type': 'application/json',
  },
  body: JSON.stringify({
    item_id: 42,
    quantity: 2,

  }),
})
  .then(response => response.json())
  .then(data => console.log(data))
  .catch(error => console.error('Error:', error));

Convert curl Commands to fetch, Axios, or Python

API docs, Stripe examples, and browser DevTools all hand you a curl command — but your app is written in JavaScript or Python. Translating it by hand means re-quoting JSON, remembering how each library sends form data, and getting headers right. Paste the command above and get working fetch, Axios, or requests code instantly.

Which curl Options Are Converted?

🔀 Method & URL

-X / --request, --url, plus the implicit rules: -d makes it POST, -I makes it HEAD, and -G moves data into the query string.

📨 Headers, cookies & auth

-H, -b (cookies), -A (user agent), -e (referer), -u (basic auth), and --oauth2-bearer.

📦 Request bodies

-d, --data-raw, --data-binary, --data-urlencode, --json, and -F multipart forms. JSON bodies become real objects, form bodies become URLSearchParams or dicts.

⚙️ Behavior flags

-k / --insecure and -m / --max-time are converted where the library supports them. Cosmetic flags like -s, -v, and --compressed are safely ignored.

How to Copy a Request as curl from Your Browser

1️⃣

Open DevTools

Press F12 (or Cmd+Option+I on Mac) and open the Network tab, then trigger the request in the page.

2️⃣

Find the request

Click the request in the list — filtering by Fetch/XHR helps cut through the noise.

3️⃣

Copy as cURL

Right-click it and choose Copy → Copy as cURL. In Chrome and Edge you can pick the bash or Windows cmd format; this tool understands both.

4️⃣

Paste it above

The converter handles the long header lists and escaped JSON these commands contain. It also flags headers that browsers won't let JavaScript set.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the cURL command converter do?

It parses a curl command — its URL, method, headers, body, and authentication — and generates equivalent code for JavaScript fetch, Axios, or Python requests that you can paste straight into your project.

Which languages and libraries are supported?

JavaScript using the built-in fetch API, JavaScript using Axios, and Python using the requests library. The JavaScript outputs can be switched between promise chains and async/await.

Is my curl command sent anywhere?

No. The command is parsed entirely in your browser and is never uploaded. The tool also never runs the request — it only converts text to code. Since curl commands often contain API keys or tokens, it's still wise to avoid pasting live secrets into any website.

Which curl options are supported?

Methods (-X), headers (-H), cookies (-b), user agent (-A), referer (-e), basic auth (-u), bearer tokens (--oauth2-bearer), request bodies (-d, --data-raw, --data-binary, --data-urlencode, --json), multipart forms (-F), query-string mode (-G), HEAD requests (-I), insecure mode (-k), and timeouts (-m). Options that don't affect the request itself, like -s or -v, are ignored.

How do I copy a curl command from my browser?

Open DevTools, go to the Network tab, right-click the request, and choose Copy → Copy as cURL. Chrome, Edge, and Firefox all offer this.

Why does my converted code behave differently from curl?

A few defaults differ. curl doesn't follow redirects unless you pass -L, while fetch, Axios, and requests do by default. curl also sends application/x-www-form-urlencoded when you use -d without a Content-Type header. And browsers block JavaScript from setting some headers, such as Cookie and Host. The tool flags the ones it can detect in the conversion notes.
